How to Open Shipping Tubes

Our long items (boards, rods and plastic battens) are often packed in a heavy cardboard tube. We've worked hard to make sure that the tubes don't open during shipping. So it will take some doing to get them open. Click the title above for details.
First, remove the screws that are holding the metal end caps in place using a Philips-head screw driver. Save the screws. They are the same ones sent with the cord lock pulleys and flat pulleys.

Using a small flat-head screwdriver, bend the metal end cap into the center of the tube. Once you get about half-way around, you should be able to pull the cap out with pliers.

Please inspect and count all of your items before discarding the shipping tube. Sometimes small items are stuck at one end of the tube. If necessary, remove both end caps.
