Where and how to use Aleene's Stop Fraying for your Roman shade:
- When using a non-coated lining for your shade: seal the edges of your weight rod pocket hole by dabbing a small amount on the cut fabric edges.
- When making a sheer shade: To stop fraying on the bottom and side cut fabric edges, brush or squeeze a thin coat onto edges of fabric before hemming or seaming. Make sure glue soaks into fabric edges.
- When adding trim to the bottom of your shade: stop fraying on the trim at each side.
- When using pockets for your plastic battens: seal the edges of your batten pocket holes by dabbing a small amount on the cut fabric edges.
I prefer to use Aleene's Jewel-It on the end of cut lift cord. However, if you don't have a bottle, you can use Stop Fraying for that job as well. The usual Warning: Stop Fraying can darken or give a wet appearance to some colors and fabrics. Always test your own fabric before using on your shade.
