Three-Window Shade

Sandy sent photographs of her large classic Roman shade. She wrote: "I finished my shade (except for braiding the pull string). It came out well for my first time, despite the mistakes (see attached photos).

The finished size is 82.75" x 42". The width made it a bit awkward to work with but I had a great time with this project. I look forward to starting another.
Denning

Sandy continues: "The stripe that runs horizontal along the bottom was cut from excess material and necessary because I realized after I sewed the 3" hems that I cut the blinds 2" too short. When I let the hem down 2 inches, my 3" ink markings were so visible I had to cover them with something."

I priced a Roman shade on-line similar to this and it came to $700. I estimate my cost to be approximately $200.

SmaldinoDown

As you can see in the photograph above, Sandy did a great job "hiding" her error.

SmaldinoWindow

There is more information on this shade on my Blog. Sandy and I corresponded about how to install her mounting board. Her window was very shallow. You can read about her solution at: Inside Mount Shade for a Window with a Small Depth page in the Shade FAQs.
