French Braid Shades

Debbie made four shades for her living room. They are all identical, and this is a photograph of two of them. Her description of the designing is interesting. It's funny how it can seem impossible to find the perfect fabric and then it magically happens.

"I wrote to you last March and we chatted about shades. FINALLY I have my living room Roman shades finished. I did so much design work that I have lots of extra pieces for table runners.

I worried that this pattern would be too busy. I kept thinking that the body of color needed to be light or cream. I tried 20 different combinations and it never was quite right. Then I went with the Coin Fairy Frost fabric and it all came together. Rather than feeling too dark, it feels very warm and cozy when I drop the shades at night."
