Copyright 2009 - Sandy MacWilliam, Spencerport, NY, USA Sandy was kind enough to send me these photographs of the second pieced Roman shade she made along with this message: "I hung this second shade in my daughter's home Thanksgiving 2009. It covers an eight-foot sliding glass door. My daughter and I designed it using Celtic knot designs, which are appliqued. It turned out just as beautifully as the Oriental Delight shade I made for her kitchen last year."

The Celtic knot patterns are appliquéd. The design that Sandy and her daughter developed works best with appliqué. The shade folds on the red bands and not on the appliqué patterns.
