I moved to the Austin Texas area and into a new home in July and did not want to purchase the "Made In China" faux wood blinds. I love to be creative and this is just the ticket for me. The first pictures are of my Great Room. The cream-colored inside-mount light filtering Roman shades have the button holes at the top so I can feed the cords to the front of the blind. This eliminates "fishing" for the cord. Thank you for posting this solution in your FAQs/Variations on Roman Shades Section of the website.

The outside mount shades are used for insulation, decoration and to help darken the room. They are hung just under a soft cornice for a more formal look. I plan to make 7 more shades for my dinette and master bedroom. This is so much fun! |

I love how the Kitchen shade turned out. I wanted to add some creative element to the Roman shade and decided on a scallop with trim and a tassel in the middle.

This photograph shows the kitchen shade lowered all of the way down. |
