This 100% polyester lift cord gets Terrell's Flawless Use Award. It is tightly braided and resists abrasion, even from a cord lock pulley. This "spool" option contains 100 yards of cord at a savings. If you need a quantity other than 100 yards of cording, then order by the yard [Item LC/Y]. The 100-yard spools cost less than 100 yards of the "yardage". Confused? Here is an example.
I need 127.25 yards of lift cord. I want to use the 1.4 mm size in white. I order LC/S, Quantity 1, Cord Size Option: 1.4 mm, Cord Color Option: White. That takes care of 100 yards. Now I still need 27.25 yards. I order Item LC/Y, Quantity 27.5, Cord Size Option: 1.4 mm, Cord Color Option: White.
Note that there may be a knot (or two) on these 100-yard spools. We don't unwind the spools when we get them from the supplier, so we have no way of knowing if there are knots. Just be forewarned.

I get a lot of questions about what size cord to use for a shade. The answer is counter-intuitive. I use the 1.8 mm lift cord (the heaviest cord) on my narrow (smallest) shades. This is because I like for the braided cord (the part that you pull on) to be substantial. I don't like the look of the flimsy cord coming out of a mini-blind (which is why I also don't use cord condensers). A narrow shade with only 2 or 3 cords calls for a thicker cord.

I only use the 0.9 mm lift cord for Top-Down shades for clients who have voiced a concern about seeing the lift cords when the shade is lowered. It is very thin and even if you braid 4 or 5 cords into the pull cord, it feels like it will cut your hand. I have a feeling some of you purchase this size to save money. The thicker cord is well worth the 5 to 10-cents/yard extra for a Classic Roman shade.
I use the 1.4 mm lift cord for most of my shades (even those with 3 lift cords - confused yet?). It is the perfect diameter and fits nicely in all of our Cord Drops. I even like to use it on Top-Down shades as I explained above. We sell the colored cord in the 1.4 mm size only.

Use this Size for |
Use this thin cord for Top-Down shades ONLY. You want to minimize the visibility of the lines when the shade is lowered. |
Unless your shade has less than 4 lift cords or you are making a Top-Down shade, you will be using this size cord. If you are in doubt as to which cord to use, this size is your best bet. |
This cord is great for shades that have 2-3 lift cords. |
* Tensile Strength means how much weight one cord can hold. Remember that you will always have at least two cords. This cord is STRONG! You never have to worry about it breaking.
