Description of the Technique If you can break a pattern up into squares, rectangles, strips and triangles, you can design and make a Geometric Pieced Roman shade. Visit a local Quilt Fabric Store and purchase a Self-Healing Mat and Rotary Cutter so that you can make accurate cuts. Quilters use 1/4" seam allowances, so simply add 1/4" on all sides of your pattern pieces. Leave an extra few inches all of the way around the shade and square to the required Cut Shade Length and Cut Shade Width when you are finished. A Carpenter's Square and long metal ruler (both available in most home center stores) make this process easy. You can access all of the Galleries by clicking on the links in the left hand column.
