Quilt Pattern Pieced Roman Shades

Jeanette Davis, Castle Rock, Colorado
Jeanette
took my class at Quilts in the Attic in Denver in January, 1999. She had
just moved into a new home and had the ambitious plan to cover most of
the window with pieced Roman shades. Only one year later, she was well
on her way to completing her task.
Laundry Room Log
Cabin Pieced Roman Shade. This is the shade that Jeanette made in
class.
By the second
class, Jeanette had pieced the front of this shade for her son's bedroom
Jeanette's older
daughter wanted butterflies on her shade. She machine appliquéd this
great pieced Roman shade. I particularly like the way she left several
of the blocks white. The shade folds on the full block.
Jeanette's
younger daughter insisted upon a Pokeman shade.

Jeanette wins the
prize for the largest shade. This Bargello is 86" wide and
108" long and hangs in her dining room. She was also planning to
make three more shades for the adjoining living room using the same
fabrics, but with the Illusions pattern.
