Quilt Pattern Pieced Roman Shades
Copyright 2006 - Ann
Wiles, Round Rock, Texas
Ann made these two shades to cover the top Palladium windows in her
home. These windows are also call "eyebrow" windows. The
shades fold up, although she did not send me photos with the shades
raised. The photo below shows the windows before they were
covered.
Ann
and her husband Mike constructed an arched board to match the arch of
the window. They then covered it with cloth to match the shades and
fastened the arched board in the window. They attached the pulleys to
the bottom of the arched board. Ann reports that everything works well
using this technique.
You can see the cords
on the right-hand side of the shade. The cords for the Roman shade are
white. The second set of cords are for the pleated shade and are simply
pulled up out of the way. Below is a close-up of the un-covered larger
Palladium window and below that a close-up of the pieced Roman shade.
