Copyright 2002 - Carlene Bratach, Broomfield, Colorado

Carlene tackled a huge window for her first pieced Roman shade. The 85" wide and 72" long shade was created to give the feel of a Japanese Shoji screen. Carlene used silk fabrics and a simple design for the shade, which is hanging in her Asian-styled dining room.

Carlene writes "My choice of fabrics (silk) definitely made the project much more difficult. Once I finally had the front completed, the remaining construction was incredibly smooth. My next pieced Roman shade will be for a bathroom. I am so looking forward to using cotton fabrics."
