Copyright 2001 - Christe Solie, Glendale, Arizona

Christe made these shades for her daughter's bedroom. The window is 73" wide and 40" long, so each of the shades is 37.5" by 40". The pattern is a scrappy star block (5" with a 1-1/2" strip on the top or bottom) across the top, with a great bright blue fabric for the rest of the shade. (That is NOT a valance on the top. Christe pieced the top portion of the shade itself.

The shades are mounted right under a shelf that tops the window. Look carefully at the photographs, the bright yellow-green in the lower part of the window are leaves on the trees outside.
