Shirley worked on these shades in a July 2001 workshop that I taught for Piecing Partners Quilt Guild in Colorado Springs. She used tie-dyed fabrics from India for the (un-pieced) blocks. She then used a marbled quilting fabric for the sashing between the blocks and the borders.
