Aleene's Jewel-It Detail [Item No. AJI]

Use this flexible glue to attach your plastic or wooden batten to the inside of your fabric shade. Note that this item earns Terrell's Flawless Use Award.

4-ounce container

This glue was developed for permanently attaching sequins to T-shirts. It works perfectly for gluing your plastic battens to the fabric shade. It dries clear and remains flexible even after hanging in your window for years.

Regular white glue (such as Elmer's glue) becomes brittle when exposed to sun. Your battens will just fall off after a few months in your window.

You only need a small dot of glue (the size of a DRIED pea) every 6" to 8" to hold your batten in place. One bottle should be enough for 10 to 20 shades.

You can find this item at your local crafts store, such as Michaels or Hobby Lobby.

Warning! This glue works best on 100% cotton fabrics or a cotton/polyester blend. Fabrics that are made from 100% polyester or 100% silk can be stained by the glue. I strongly suggest that you test your fabric first before gluing on your battens.
