If
you order 100 yards or less, you get the quantity of cord that you order
in ONE PIECE. In other words, if you order 57.5 yards of lift cord, you
will get one length that is 57.5 yards long. If you order more than 100
yards, you will get a 100-yard roll and another separate length for the
quantity over 100 yards. Let's say you order 137 yards of cord. You will
receive a 100-yard roll and another 37-yard piece. I generally throw in
a few extra yards to allow for the fact that you have two pieces. A
comment on those 100-yard rolls. Occasionally there is a splice within
the roll. This is particularly true of the 1.8 mm cord. I don't unroll
the cord to check for splices, but simply throw them in the box. The Hardware Calculator
gives you yardage that is pretty accurate without a
lot of slack. You may want to add 2-3 yards extra onto that amount
rather than run out.

Use
this thin cord for Top-Down shades ONLY. You want to minimize
the visibility of the lines when the shade is lowered. |
Unless
your shade has less than 4 lift cords or you are making a Top-Down
shade, you will be using this size cord. If you are in doubt as to
which cord to use, this size is your best
bet. |
This
cord is great for shades that have 2-3 lift cords. |
*Tensile Strength
means how much weight one cord can hold. Remember that you will always
have at least two cords. This cord is STRONG! You never have to worry
about it breaking.
The size of cord
you should use for your shade is counter-intuitive. I use the 1.8 mm
lift cord (the heaviest cord) on my narrow (smallest) shades. I ONLY use
the 0.9 mm lift cord on my Top-Down shades. I use the 1.4 mm lift cord
for everything else. All of the cords are strong and the wider the
shade, the more lift cords you will be using. The main concern is how
many cords you can get into a cord drop, not the weight of the shade.
