Lift Ring Detail
[Item LRM] - Metal

These Sew-On
brass-plated metal
rings are appropriate when the BACK of your shade is colored (not white
or beige). They are very small, but also very strong. The small size
means they will be barely visible when the shade is viewed from the
back. Remember that only one lift cord goes through each lift ring, so
small is fine.

Lift Ring Tape
I am often asked why I don't sell lift ring tape. This is a twill tape
with rings already sewn on. Many readers think that this will save them
time. I personally don't like the stuff. I have experimented with it but
have never used it on a Roman shade. What I DON'T like:
|
Your
fold depth is determined by the spacing of the rings on the tape,
not by what would look best for your own window. |
|
The
spacing of the lift rings are quite close together. A 5"
spacing means that your fold depth will be 2.5". A 6"
spacing means that your fold depth will be 3". |
|
You
have to carefully mark vertical lines on your shade and sew both
sides of the tape onto your fabric. I found this to be very
difficult and I didn't like the columns of stitches. |
